Target Audience

All staff who are servicing the customers particularly in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical/Chemical industries. Supervisory levels namely manager, supervisor and officer responsible in running the warehouse and inventory of dangerous products.

Course Overview

Handling day-to-day operations in a DG or chemical warehouse is rather complex because as a supervisor, one has to control the inventory management vis-a-vis its chemical composition, classification, etc. Without proper diagnosis of chemical background and its preventions, it may lead to unpleasant situation should an incident occur. With this in mind, the seminar on DG Management : Applications and Processes aims to educate and reinforce those in the managerial levels (including supervisors and officers) the importance of DG management; application & processes in the logistics industry in particular to when servicing their customers’ requirements in respective industries; Oil & Gas and Petrochemical/Chemical especially :

- Application of relevant legislatives and governances; at both macro and micro level
- Assessment of managerial roles in establishing the correct DG management in running the warehouse
- Correct prevention of incidents when handling DG or chemical related products in the warehouse

- Mandatory courses relevant for logistics industry vis-à-vis the industry they are servicing their customer

- How to establish relevant DG management to the company
- Effective leadership
- Management of change
- Cause & effect of accidents/incidents & how to prevent them by using the “loss causation chain” model
- Customer satisfaction

Funding Info

The course is an Approved-in-Principle (AIP) course for the Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) under the SDF EasyNet with a support level of $4.00 per training hour. (Please note that the AIP status is subjected to renewal by the Skills Development Fund.) Sponsoring companies who fulfill the following criteria, are required to pay only the unsupported portion of the course fee to association :

- Participants must be Singaporeans or Permanent Residents or 3-year Work Permit Holders.
- Companies must be registered in Singapore and bear the full training cost.
- Only company cheques are allowed for payment of course fees.

As the association endeavour to qualify the course for renewal of AIP status each year, all sponsoring companies are required to sign a letter of undertaking in which they will undertake to bear the portion supported by the Skills Development Fund to the association should their sponsored staff fail to achieve 75% attendance and/or are absent from the examination.
