Course Overview

This course provides participants with a comprehensive academic and practical underestanding of the key skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in a freight forwarding environment

Course Duration

Diploma : 13 months (243 training hours exclusive of examinations)
Certificate : 9 months (147 training hours exclusive of examinations)

Assessment

Participants are assessed through project works, class participation and examinations to be held at the end of each certificate module. To be eligible to sit for the examination, participant must attain at least 75% attendance. All examination scripts are being held for a period of one year strictly only for auditing purposes. Participants who fail the examination will be granted a re-examination of the certificate module at the following intake. In the event if the participant did not pass the re-examination, he would have to re-enrol for the certificate module.

- IFM 101 International Trade Management (12 sessions)
- IFM 102 Air Freight Forwarding Operations (16 sessions)
- IFM 103 Sea Freight Forwarding Operations (13 sessions)
- IFM 104 Multimodal Transport (14 sessions)
- IFM 105 Customer Service and Relationship Management in Logistics (11 sessions)
- IFM 106 Legal Issues in Freight Management (13 sessions)
- 601 Basic Management (11 sessions)

Pre-requisites

Candidates should possess at least 3 GCE “N” level passes including a pass in English.
Those with less than 3 GCE “N” level passes will be considered for enrolment on a case-to-case basis taking into account their working experience.

The courses may be subjected to changes in context, dates, venue and lecturers. The SLA reserves the right to cancel or postpone the courses if necessary.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the diploma programme, participants are awarded the Diploma in International Freight Management.

Subsidy
- $7 per hour for Singaporeans/PR below 40 years old
- $11 per hour for Singaporeans/PR above 40 years old with GCE 'A' Levels and below.
