Course Overview

This programme is designed to provide an intermediate depth of learning for participants interested in the Supply Chain Management. It allows participants to gain a comprehensive academic and practical understanding of the key skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in a supply chain management environment.

Course Duration

10 months (183 training hours exclusive of examinations and research project)

Assessment

Participants are assessed through project works and examinations to be held at the end of each certificate module. To be eligible to sit for the examination, participant must attain at least 75% attendance. All examination scripts are being held for a period of one year strictly only for auditing purposes.

Participant who fails the examination, will be granted a re-examination of the certificate module at the following intake. In the event if the participant did not pass the re-examination, he would have to re-enrol for the certificate module.

- SCM 1006 Production and Operation Management (11 sessions)
- SCM 1007 Global Marketing Management (8 sessions)
- SCM 1008 Research Project

Pre-requisites

Candidates should possess at least GCE “A” level passes.
Those without the minimum requirement will be considered for enrolment on a case-to-case basis taking into account their working experience.

14th Intake: 1 Sept 2009 to 6 Jul 2010 (every Tues & Thurs)
15th Intake: 5 Nov 2009 to 14 Sep 2010 (every Tues & Thurs)
16th Intake: 16 Mar 2010 to 11 Jan 2011 (every Tues & Thurs)

Participants would have to do the Research Project 6 months after the last session date.

Changes and Cancellation
The courses may be subjected to changes in context, dates, venue and lecturers. The SLA reserves the right to cancel or postpone the courses if necessary.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the higher diploma programme, participants are awarded the Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony to be held at least once a year.
