Course Overview

This workshop is specially designed to allow participants to appreciate the usefulness of Microsoft Excel in their daily work. Whether it is analyzing data, preparing reports, querying information to answer customers, Excel is a powerful tool that is widely available and flexible to use. Through this workshop, participants will understand the common functions and how to leverage Excel to maximize productivity and perform their tasks more effectively and efficiently.

This workshop is different from other available Excel courses because the teaching focuses on logistical reports and related work. Common problems in logistics are discussed and solutions using Excel are highlighted. Thus, participants enjoy double benefits – learning a software tool as well as immediate application of the tool to work.

    - Practical : Create a Stock Take Report using the above concepts

  • - Sensitivity Analysis / Goal Seek / Regression Analysis
    - Practical : Forecast Stock Demand for FMCG

  • - Introduction to Database Structures (Tables and Relationships)
    - Using MS Excel Query

Methodology

This is a hands-on course where participants will have intensive practical session using MS Excel.

Funding Info

The course is an Approved-in-Principle (AIP) course under the SDF EasyNet with a support level of $2.00 per training hour. (Please note that the AIP status is subjected to renewal by the Skills Development Fund.) Sponsoring companies who fulfill the following criteria, are required to pay only the unsupported portion of the course fee to association :

- Participants must be Singaporeans or Permanent Residents or 3-year Work Permit Holders.
- Companies must be registered in Singapore and bear the full training cost.
- Only company cheques are allowed for payment of course fees.

As the association endeavour to qualify the course for renewal of AIP status each year, all sponsoring companies are required to sign a letter of undertaking in which they will undertake to bear the portion supported by the Skills Development Fund to the association should their sponsored staff fail to achieve 75% attendance and/or are absent from the examination.
