To minimise the risk involved in business transactions, it is essential to understand and acquire the “how-to” skills to apply the Standard Trading Conditions (STC).
The STC was revised at the 30th Annual General Meeting of SLA held on 7 May 2004 to reflect changes in the logistics industry taking into consideration, several judgements upheld up the court in Singapore and incorporated suggestions, comments and feedback from member-companies. A Certificate in Standard Trading Conditions will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. Participants must fulfil 75% attendance and pass the required examination. Participant who fails the examination, will be granted a re-examination. In the event, if the participant did not pass the re-examination, he would have to re-enrol for the course if he wishes to obtain the certificate.
The course is an Approved-in-Principle (AIP) course under the SDF EasyNet with a support level of $4 per training hour. (Please note that the AIP status is subjected to renewal by the Skills Development Fund.) Sponsoring companies who fulfill the following criteria, are required to pay only the unsupported portion of the course fee to association :
- Participants must be Singaporeans or Permanent Residents or 3-year Work Permit Holders.
