Course Overview

Singapore's pharmaceutical industry is booming. Each year hundreds of Pharmacists graduate from institutes of higher learning and the number is increasing each year. To support the growing pool of pharmacists and healthcare professionals, NTUC LearningHub® is delivering an introductory level training programme – Pharmacy Assistant Course, which is endorsed by Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS).

PSS is the only professional body for pharmacists in Singapore. The course is suitable for individuals who are seeking jobs in the Pharmaceutical industry as well as employees of hospitals, retail pharmacies, private clinics, medical centres, polyclinics, retail outlets dealing with healthcare etc.

Target Audience

The Pharmacy Assistant course is suitable for school leavers and persons who are currently employed in the Healthcare industry. Those who are interested to switch/ pursue a career in the Healthcare industry will also benefit from this course.

Progression

Upon completion of the Pharmacy Assistant course, trainees may wish to take the Certified Pharmacy Technician Course (CPTC). Entry to CPTC is subjected to trainees fulfilling all criterias defined by PSS. For further clarification on the entry requirement of the CPTC course, you may wish to contact PSS at 6221 1136.

Funding Info

Skills Development Fund (SDF) is available to Singaporeans/Permanent Residents who are sponsored by their company. Please refer to the following table for the funding rates. Individuals who sign up on their own will not be entitled to the funding:

$4 per trainee-hour for SMEs* $2 per trainee-hour for non-SMEs

*Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are defined as companies with at least 30% local ownership, with fixed asset investments of not more than $15 million.
