Target Audience

This security training course is suitable for security officers or guards who would like to gain new skills in their job.

Course Overview

This elective module provides trainee with the knowledge and skills in assisting the evacuation of premises during emergency situations. Upon completion of this module, trainee will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in assisting the evacuation of premises during emergencies, including correct usage of fire extinguishers and fire hose reel.

Course Duration

24 hours (2 days) include assessment hours

Assessment

An assessment (1 hour 30 minutes) will be conducted at the end of the module by POLWEL

Course Outline

• Demonstrating correct usage of portable fire extinguishers
• Demonstrating correct usage of fire hose reels
• Assisting in evacuation

Pre-requisites

Minimum secondary 2 education
OR
Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills System are eligible:
Listening/Speaking Min. Level 4
Reading/Writing Min. Level 4
Numeracy Min. Level 4
OR
Participants may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test during registration.
OR
Participants who have taken Enhanced Basic Security Course (Handle Security Incidents & Services and Provide Guard & Patrol Services – either under WSQ or NSRS) are also eligible.
