Target Audience

This security training course is suitable for anyone who wants to start a career as a Security Officer or Security Guard

Course Overview

This compulsory module provides trainee with the knowledge and skills in identifying and handling situations involving suspicious persons or objects. Upon completion of this module, trainee will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in handling counter-terrorism activities as Security Officers.

Course Duration

24 hours (3 days) include assessment hours

Assessment

An assessment (2 hours 10 minutes) will be conducted at the end of the module by POLWEL

Course Outline

  • Being aware of current risks and threats
  • Identifying suspicious activities through behavioural profiling
  • Handling situation involving suspicious persons
  • Handling situation involving suspicious objects
  • Handling situation involving suspicious powders, i.e. anthrax
  • Handling situation involving suspicious vehicles
  • Responding to bomb threat
  • Handling after-incident response

Pre-requisites

Minimum secondary 2 education
OR
Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills System are eligible:
Listening/Speaking Min. Level 4
Reading/Writing Min. Level 4
Numeracy Min. Level 4
OR
Participants may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test during registration.
