Target Audience

This security training course is suitable for anyone who wants to start a career as a Security Supervisor or any Security officer who wants to upgrade themselves with supervisory skills for career advancement opportunities in the Security Industry.

Course Overview

This module provides trainee with the knowledge and skills in supervising and managing junior security officers. Upon completion of this module, trainee will be equipped with the necessary and relevant supervisory and managerial skills required as a Security Supervisor to induct security personnel and be able to apply them at the workplace.

Course Duration

21.5 Hrs (3 days) excluding assessment hours

Assessment

2.5 hours per candidate (1.5 hours for Written Test and 1 hour for presentation of project work)

Course Outline

• Prepare to induct security officer
• Conduct induction on access control
• Conduct induction on patrolling
• Conduct induction on security and alarm systems
• Conduct induction on reception duties

Pre-requisites

At least a lower secondary educational qualification
OR
Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills System are eligible:
Listening/Speaking English at Level 5
Reading/Writing English at Level 5

Methodology

Feedback and Work observation – presentation, role play, report writing (85%) – carried out individually throughout the entire training duration and on the Final Assessment day.
Short answer questions (15%) – written test carried out in a class on the last day of training

Certification

• Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Workforce Development Agency (WDA)
• Certificate of Attendance from NTUC LearningHub^®

Upon completion of 4 Core + 3 Electives, participants will be issued with Advanced Certificate in Security Supervision.
