Course Overview

At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:

  • Understand the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislation
  • Understand the codes of practices
  • Recognize the roles and responsibilities of ship-repair managers and other key shipyard personnel
  • Handle lifting equipment safely

Course Duration

32 hours (4.5 days), include 2 hours of assessment

  • Codes of Practice (CP14, CP 84, CP88: Part 3)
  • Role of Ship Repair Managers and other key shipyard personnel on safety

  • Job Hazard Analysis
  • Safe Use of Lifting Equipment
  • Fire & Explosion, Hot-Work Permit System
  • Safety Management System
  • Safety Audit
  • MPA Regulations and Gas Free Certification

Pre-requisites

Participant must hold the position of Manager, Ship-repair Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent or equivalent.
(Note: Participant has to produce a company letter to verify his/her designation)

Funding Info
