Course Overview

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Recognise their roles and duties in shipyard works
Implement safety measures and procedures for hotwork works

Course Duration

4 hours (½ day), include 15 mins of assessment

Characteristics of flammable substances
Causes of fires and explosions
Case studies on shipyard fire and explosion accidents
Safety measures for preventing fires and explosions
Permit-to-Work systems

Pre-requisites

Participants must successfully complete the Shipyard Safety Instruction Course (General Trade) OR (Painter Trade)

Certification

Upon completion of the course, a safety pass which is valid for a period of 5 years will be issued to all participants. SSIC Hotwork safety pass will be invalid if SSIC – General Trade safety pass is invalid/has expired.
